Google has developed a new application for iPhone which allows for voice recognition on your mobile. The application is able to answer simple questions of location (in English yet). For example "Where is the nearest Starbucks" or "How tall is Mount Everest?". It can also provide driving directions and search for information in your address book.
The concept is simple. The recorded voice is sent to Google's server for analysis which returns a response in seconds. The application is free and apparently it would be available on the AppStore this weekend, but I can not find it.
Google's strategy in terms of development is quite strange, I thought it would promote its own platform out applications for the G1 phone ahead first.
